How do I send an email when a window is opened? I have Activehome and the OnAlert plug in.

Sending an email is on the "advanced" menu... when editing a macro.

Of course you must have set up the email configuration in MyHouse and added some users with login/passwords.

The system requirements for OnAlert said nothing about requiring MyHouse. Did I miss something?

System Requirements: OnAlert requires ActiveHome Pro.
Designed to work on Windows based personal computers with one
available USB port,  and an Internet connection to download software and program updates.
This product is not intended to be a Security System, but a monitoring system.

I thought MyHouse was PART of AHP.  I got my with it.  Otherwise it seems to be something just for streaming video which I don't use.  Maybe I missed some cool features of it.  Let me know if I did.  I like cool features.

The main purpose of the MyHouse plug-in is to allow you to access your ActiveHome Pro configuration over the internet from another computer and view live video from any installed cameras (requires iWitness).

Basically, MyHouse adds networking functionality to ActiveHome Pro.  These include not only network access but Email and FTP support.  You can send email notifications from macros.  If iWitness is installed, you can email images; either the most recent image or you can email multiple images over time.  Additionally you can have ActiveHome Pro FTP images to your web site.

I run VPN's between all remote sites and have our own FTP, Web and Email servers.  Is this sufficient or do I also need access to your MyHouse service on your server?

RJMiller:   Currently you need to access MyHouse threw the X10 server there was talk of adding the option so this wasn't needed but I haven't heard anymore about it! ::) ???
EdwinWeston: There is a way to e-mail your self without the MyHouse plugin!
You'll need to download and install "the free thirdparty Addon" [/color] X10dispatcher (http://www.x10dispatcher.com) Unfortunately this has to be running on the pc to work it doesn't download to the interface! :( ;)

OnAlert is the same - macros triggered by security sensors and remotes have to be run from the PC.

Why is it that the macros have to run on the computer???

Not all macros have to run on the PC! ;) :D

Only those that are used with On Alert and those which require files from the PC or saving to the PC.

I suspect X10 Is using the Phantom module trick users have been playing with since AHP first was released in order to use the security modules!

Although in a slightly different manner! ;)

Since the CM15As firmware isn't upgradable this isn't about to change any time soon! ::) :(
