Suggestion:

First write a list of all your zones and use the list for the install order.

Then keep the list by the base for easy reference to the tripped / troubled zone.

Another suggestion:  Have a friend watch the console and note the activation of each motion sensor and then label the sensors (both at the sensor and at the console).

The easiest way to find out which sensors are which zones is this:
1. Verify that your battery is not low.
2. Unplug your base unit from both the power and phone line.
3. Put the unit in the "RUN 2" MODE.
4. Walk around your home/office/etc. and test each unit, hitting either the TEST button on each remote or opening the door/window. (Note: Motion sensors will trigger a "ding")
5. Each window/door sensor will produce a 'ding' from the base unit while in the RUN 2 mode. The corresponding LED on the base unit for each ZONE will illuminate when triggered.

To check the motion sensors, you will have to arm the system. Following "tripping of the alarm," the LED will remain illuminated, as well as the "ARMED" LED, until you RE-ARM and then DISARM the system.
