Title: standby power consumption of x10 appliance module ?
Post by: trl on October 07, 2006, 11:34:54 PM
i'm designing my home office to run on an off-grid solar energy system so power consumption is important.

Does anybody know what the standby current (milliamps) is of the Powerhouse 2002 X10 Appliance Module
?

Thanks!

SEARCH: NEWSGROUP: Comp.Home.Automation  (Read 1060 times) (http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php?topic=9769.0)

for Author: Dave Houston and try variations: "module" "standby" "current" "power consumption".

I'm fairly certainly that I recall reading it once, sometime within the past 10 years or so.

I don't recognize that model number, but here are a few I did measure:

X10AM14ATwo Way Appliance Module _ 45.1 ma AC
X10ProPAM01Appliance Module w/AGC30.0 ma AC
Smarthome _ 2001SHL _ ApplianceLinc66.0 ma AC
Smarthome2856S3Icon On/Off Adapter69.0 ma AC

Also is your off grid power going to be close to a sine wave? If not it could make X10 signals hard to use or even harm a
          module.
Any thing less than a true sine wave is going to cause problems! ::) I know I run a modified sine wave inverter at the cottage  totaly melted a TM751 I was testing there!
You'll want to spend the extra coin and get a "true sine wave inverter"

At the cottage the X10 setup is on hold untill I get a new inverter! ::) :( :( ;)
I wasn't thinking of this when I first started setting up the solar rays! ::) ;) I was just worried about getting Power! ;) :D :)
