Title: WS12A Decora Dimmers buzzing
Post by: VrT on October 11, 2006, 01:14:48 AM
Hello all.  I have recently purchased the USB module and a number of extra WS12A dimmers.  I have started my install in my theater but my wife can hear buzzing coming from the dimmer.  Is this buzzing during operation common? If so I may have to return the system because all the lighting controls are beside her ear during movie viewing.  :-[

Cheers, VrT

Are the lights in question standard incandescent types? If they are a low voltage or fluorescent type. The dimming WS12A should not be used with those type lights; unless the manufacturer says it is a dimmable light. Many switches buzz to some point. In many it is the coil in the circuit. Some more than others. depends on how the coil is wound.
