To see if it is a signal problem to where you connected the power horn.
As a test try it in the same outlet as the console. Also the powerhorn is triggered by the on off cycles of the alarm sending on off signals to the security lights and powerhorn if used. It does NOT sound with a single on signal. If you send a set of on off signals on the address it is set to from a remote or the consoles X10 control buttons it should also sound off.

And it takes a few seconds for it to be activated.  That is, it comes on a little bit AFTER the console warning.

Yes I missed that point. It takes between 2 and 4 cycles to trigger it.
After the cycle stops. It also takes a few seconds to stop. Also 4 minutes of cycles and it times out and stops.

OK if a powerhorn is trigged by ON/OFF signals.....a POwerflash won't trigger it.

What can I use to intergrate a photobeam sensor I have that only has a 1 second switching ability to trigger my powerhorn?

Thank you

A Powerflasher in Mode 2 can trigger a Powerhorn but only if your contacts stay closed. 1 second will not work.
Maybe some type of timer circuit could be used. Sensor triggers the timer that keeps the Powerflashers contacts closed for a longer time. At one time I was playing with a preassembled timer and a Powerflasher. Never got too far though as other projects took hold.
