I have done a mod, where the Triac dimming element is replaced by a solid state switch. Basically it then can control small devices like low voltage lights etc. It is then on or off with one weakness. If you try and dim it nothing happens until the trigger voltage on the SSR is too low; maybe around 50%; then it just goes off. Also you have to remember it will respond to an All Lights ON so what is controlled should be considered.
