Title: XP Pro Windows USB update for Active home Pro??
Post by: EL34 on January 11, 2007, 09:22:42 AM
I was doing a critical update this morning and I noticed that there were two hardware updates available.
When I looked to see what they were, one was for Active home.

I didn't do the update cause installing drivers this way can get you into all kinds of trouble.

Anyone know what this driver update is and if it should be installed?

Since the date of the XP Pro Windows USB update for Active Home Pro is 2005, I would NOT install it until sombody at X10 says it's good now.  If your AHP/CM15A is working fine, don't mess with it.

I guess there is some comfort in knowing that AH Pro, even an old version, has completed the Windows certification process.

I installed it way back when it came out and have loaded it since on numerous reloads of my system with no problems.  In fact I usually run all the updates after I have AHP installed, so I'm sure that's the driver I"m using now.  Also on my install of Vista the cm15a was picked up during installation and a driver from Microsoft installed for it.  I'm using that driver with AHP and have had no problems so far with it in Vista.

Thank you for the data on AHP and Vista. That is good news as many programs I have do not pass Vista's Update Adviser from Microsoft.
