Title: HR12A & WS467, help
Post by: wtell on February 22, 2007, 02:04:15 AM
Hi

I recently purchased a house and found a Remote Control Model HR12A and a WS467 Remote Switch to conctrol the light on the outside. but the HR12A can not control the light. Pressing the push button(WS467) ,i can  turn the light on or off.

thanks.

The HR12A sends an RF signal that needs to be received by a transceiver for it to get the X10 signal into the house wiring. If no transceiver was left behind the wall switch will not work with any RF remote. You can get transceivers from X10. they make several models.

The RR501 IMHO is the better of the two  especially if you plan on expanding your X10 system. Which ever one you get make sure that you set it to the same house code as the switch. If you take the cover of off the switch you should see two adjustments, one is the house code (A through P) and the outher is the unit code (1through 16). The HR12A will also need to be set to the same house code as the switch.

The following link give a brief breakdown of the differences between the RR501 and  TM751

Have fun,
