Title: Re: What's with customer service at X10? [2 of 3]
Post by: skip on January 19, 2005, 01:53:31 PM
X10 had an exodus of talent some months ago
and also let go of some of the top
performers in the tech service division go
in bogus layoffs. It appears that they have
been unable to revover and are using plastic
wrap to cover a sucking chest wound. If the
X10 service technology is failing ' Our
computers are down" how can you expect
anything from the product they produce. I
would imagine that X10 support is the
standard call center churn and burn, no
loyalty from the staff and no caring from
the management as long as you the consumer
keep buying crap made in China by X10 sold
to X10 and not supported by X10.

Do a web search for 'X10 Wireless Technology
lawsuit' and 'X10 Wireless Technology
bankruptcy'. I suspect they are
still "recovering" from these issues.

Ok, Ok, I believe you. I'm in serious need
of home security and surveilance equipment,
and not too good with the technical stuff,
at least with X-10. Where do I turn? I'm
also very interested in home automation.

Not saying that anyone in here is wrong, I
believe every word. I ordered a system, got
it, works fine. Whenever I have a question I
use live chat and they answer promptly. Won't
be making any huge purchases off this place.

I have to say I like what I got so far but
I am looking where I step before I buy
more. Don't want to be wiping my foot off
on the curb.

Hello Everyone,
I'm in the same boat with the lack of
support. I'm currently working on several
projects and over the last 2 months I have
e-mailed, called and tried to live chat
with zero success on several occassions. E-
mails have gone unanswered, calls were on
hold for 20 + min. only to leave message
for return call that never happened and the
live chat says they can only answer pre-
sales questions. I even have a large order
I need to return and can't get in touch
with anyone to find out how to return and
get a refund for the products. Ironic that
they can take your money and ship products
in less than a day but can't post
information on there website on how to
return a product for a refund. I've been
odering from X-10 for over 5 years and
never had the problems as of late. My most
recent order will surely be my last. Sad,
sad, sad.

For the life of me I just don't understand
why so very few of you are having so much
trouble. I am returning a pan-tilt unit and
have had NO trouble in gettiing RMA# andI
am sure I well get a new one back very fast.
As to x10's chapter 11, well it's not the
first company and I am sure it won't be the
last one. Chrystler

Customer Service at X10...what's that. I
bought a camera off e-bay from X10. Payment
was made immediate... Shipping has been
messed up and "Customer Support" has been
what appears to be confused about the entire
situation.

It is so poor that we are starting legal
action against them as we bought a large
system and received no return calls or any
contact from the company. In short we got
screwed.

If you bought this product you fell into a
trap! The horror starts once you open that
box. Non existent customer support. Surly
attitudes, hurried ways and call limits of
5 minutes for your problems! It doens't
matter if your product works or not but the
time is5 5 minutes! Only a fool would buy
this kind of garbage on the Internet and I
am one of those.

Stay away from this horror camera if you
will.

No wonder this company filed for Bankruptcy
filings. The way they are going they will
be out of business soon enough! If you
google you will find links leading to its
BK filings on CNET.com etc.

The horror starts right from there. They
need cash badly enough so they charge your
visa instantly, yet can't handle service
due to lack of resources in turn! I was
duped when I bought this product and hence
all the uphill difficulties that you will
face if you bought this products. BEWARE.

There are people who just don’t get along
with others and think everyone should jump
for them when they have a complaint. I
admit that x10 has a few problems to work
out and so did Chrysler and if we all would
have taken the same attitude I wonder if
they would still be here today.
I just got back a new pan and tilt unit and
yes they break or do some of you have never
ending cars and
TV’s?
Diplomacy gentlemen give it a try.

This is sad because really, I like the idea
of x10's stuff. I really do, and I plan on
expanding my system in the future. I'm
dissapointed that they are in this situation.
I really hope they shape up, they could pay
back what they owe pretty quick if they'd put
a little effort into their company!!
