Title: No video file when recording
Post by: gbholzer on August 26, 2007, 08:21:00 AM
I have a macro that is triggered by a motion sensor that turns on a camera and starts video recording for 8 seconds and then stops recording and turns off the camera.

For the most part this macro works just fine but at some point even though AHP says that I am recording there is no video present, AHP creates a file but there is 0 time recorded.  Once this problem starts AHP must be restarted, which is not good since this happens everyday.

I am using the cinepak Codec, I just realized when I was checking the name of the codec in preferences there was an error in the codec window that said "error unable to retrieve compressor info".  So somehow the codec is failing somehow...How do I stop that?  I am changing codecs now but I do believe that has happened with different ones.

Thanks,
G

Sorry this isn't an answer, just more information.

I have had the same problem and using Microsoft Video 1 codec, recording for 1 minute.
Its usually happens when I get more than 100 videos in a day.
Most days its not a problem I get less than 30 videos.

So it appears that it may not be codec related?

It appears to stop recording when there are 74 or 75 videos. Hmm...

This may be a bug with the Plug-in and may be worth reporting to X10! ;)
