Title: Need help with timer - dusk setting
Post by: narinesa on November 20, 2007, 09:11:38 AM
I would like to set a timer with:

A1 ON Dusk or sunset  + 10 mins and OFF in 20 mins after start time

I understand that dusk changes daily and my ON and OFF times will varies accordingly.

I tried to do this and to confirm via the report.
I am not able to confirm that it is done properly.

Step by step instructions will be appreciated.

Have you tried to set up a timer or macro to do this?
In order for timers to work you'll need two!
A macro will do this how ever the activity monitor will only show that it was triggered!
The Activity Monitor is what you want to use to see if your timers/macros run or not(not the reports)! ;)
State what you have tried thus far (give a detailed description of steps you've tried) and state clearly what the problem is (no use some one supplying detailed instructions if you've already done it without any success)!
Setting up 2 timers or a macro to do what you want is very simple!
If your experiencing problems there maybe other issues! ;)

OK, I understand that I have to do 2 seperate timers -
one for ON and another for OFF.

Thanks

You could set up a simple macro that turns A1 'on', waits 20 minutes, and turns A1 'off'.   Then set up a timer against that macro, to trigger it each day at dusk + 10 minutes.

Or a slight variation, a simple macro that waits 10 minutes, turns  A1 'on', waits 20 minutes, and then turns A1 'off'.  Then set up a timer to trigger it each day at dusk.
