Title: X10 vs. X10 Pro
Post by: Elvis666 on July 19, 2008, 07:38:03 PM
I'm going to purchase ActiveHome Pro and about a dozen sundry modules in the next week or so. In reading some messages on this forum, there seems to be conflicting opinions about the differences between X10 and X10 Pro modules. Some messages say that they are identical and interchangeable, some say that they are similar but the Pro models undergo a stricter testing process, and at least one message stated that the Pro modules would report their current status to AHP, while the "lesser" modules would not.

Could someone shed some light on the confusion I'm feeling?

Thanks a lot.

There's no real differences between X10 modules and X10Pro modules for the same use, except for the "further testing" Pro modules get. Other than part numbers and the lettering on the cases, they are interchangeable.

In Active Home Professional there is a section under the types of Modules. Let's use the Socket Rocket as an example. The x10 number is SS13 and the Pro number is PSM04, otherwise they are the same.

Thanks for the confirmation, Dan.  That's what I assumed from the info I had found, but I wanted to make sure before I ordered.

I believe the X10Pro series have a longer standard warranty and some say a better QC before shipping.
In one model the LM465 from X10 may or may not be soft start. X10Pro gave the soft start version a new model number.

Thanks, I'll check into that.
