Title: python and sdk?
Post by: cfigura on August 12, 2008, 11:01:00 AM
I've been using X10 controllers for a couple of years (with activehome), but only just heard about the sdk project.  I'm interested in building my own interface in python to combine X10 control with some other peripherals that I use.  I've seen the java, apache, whatever examples, but no python ones.  Has anyone used python for X10 control here?  Can anyone give me pointers/example code?

Thanks!

I've never sen any Python examples anywhere.

I came from a perl background.
Did some SDK stuff with perl but only could do so much.

I bit the bullet and downloaded VB 2008 express.
Using VB 2008 and .net is way easier to do so much more.

It was a big hump to get over, not having any windows programming background.
It has paid off nicely, so you may want to think about going that route also.
