I just received the WS467 Wall Switch Module and intend to install it to control an outdoor incandescent light. The switch box has three switches. The one I am replacing with the WS467 has what looks to be a neutral wire screwed to the side of the switch. The other two switches also have the neutral wire. The switch I'm replacing controls one light fixture and this light fixture is controlled by one switch. What do I do with this wire when installing the WS467 switch?
Maybe it's a ground wire? Either case what should be done with it?

First is it a normal switch. no dimming or timer built into it?
Is the screw the white wire attached to a green screw? That's for a ground. I'm wondering if they used the white wire as a ground or put the neutral wire on the ground screw.
Make sure also that its not a wire that's bring power to the switches maybe they used it as a jumper from switch to switch?
Or is it a old 3-way switch setup that they may of just wire nutted some wires together in a wall somewhere during a remodel.
If it truly a neutral wire then you should be able to just wire nut them together push them in the box! when using the WS467

My older home has what is called a switch loop. The power goes into the fixture and the line is then run to the switch with a two wire Romex. The white on my switch is not neutral but one side of the loop?
The switch you have. Is it part of a three way set up where more than one switch turns the same fixture on and off?
More details would be a help.

Not that I really need to be throwing in my $.02 on this thread, but whenever I run into a "switch loop" situation as Brian H is suggesting, I always wrap the white wire with black or red electrical tape to mark it as being something other than neutral.
Makes it easier on the next guy to know what's going on.

Good idea on the marking the white of a switch loop. Maybe even required now.
My older home didn't have them marked and I know one of them connected to the Line in the fixture. ::) ???
