Title: X10's Pornographic Email Ads...
Post by: jtykal on December 11, 2008, 11:02:22 AM: Honestly, I have nothing against scantily clad women -- but the X10 emails are getting a bit ridiculous. How can anyone take these products seriously when X10 resorts to soft pornography to get someone to open the ad? Do they think that luring someone to click with the hopes of seeing more nakedness will ultimately entice them to buy a mini-timer or two?
C'mon -- grow up.

There is no way bimbos, floozies, and trollups will sell "more" home automation and security products.

<big grin> I don't think so...but the question is; did they influence you to buy MORE X10 products? I suspect not. PS I also have dated a tollup or two :D

They probably would need to be so deceiving on their newsletters/on sale pages if they just made the rest of their site easier to use and had reasonable prices on their single items instead of having me buy a pack of many things for $30 because buying the single item was $50...

Also, it is time for them to make new innovative products, the icon remote is a start, but I think we all have alarm clocks already. There are a lot of simple things such as ceiling fan controllers and outdoor modules (That Black and Decker has already made) that X10 has not covered. Then RFID, Door Locks, Smoke Alarms, Carbon Monoxide Alarms, Leak Detection Alarms, maybe X10s own line of weather products that tie in seamlessly with Active Home Pro...

But I guess if there are no new products to get me going, keep sending me the ladies...

Yeah... we always want more.. newer, better, more cutting edge. But we're a niche market at best.. with way too few users to generate the sales required to for real innovation. That's likely why X10 uses the girls... bling and flash.. to attract attention.

Then... most users are (rightfully THRILLED) if they can turn off the downstairs lights... from the upstairs bedroom. However... if you read here at the forum... you will see where many members modify products to expand there abilities. There is a bunch that can be done with these basic X10 products.

I am looking to learn more about X10 products. The X10 website in my opinion is the most childish website I have seen. You have to dig to the bottom of the page to go anywhere. Most of the links take you to another splash screen selling another "Package". What I want to see on a website is Information!! I what to know all the tek specs, The size and weight, and the color. I want to see a tek write up as to what exactally the darn thing does!

Instead when I go to the X10 site I have to weed through a bunch of hype, ignore 5 or 6 "Special Sales", look at a bunch of pasted bimbos and get frustrated because I came here for "professional" products and support...Boy what a disappointment.

Oh the Girls???? If I wanted to see naked or half naked women, I would NOT come here I would go to a real free site. there are many other free places with women on line in any shape size form you want.and the best part is it's free. Oh I just might see if I can meet a lady in the real world.

Ok off my soapbox!!
Anyway I better get back to fixin this camera system..

It's so hard to find anything here and info on it too. And as everyone is saying the ads, gimics and ladies probably turn off many folks. You don't know how much it took for me to take this stuff seriously when it's advertised like this. Then again I hate to say but some of it is pretty cheesy anyway. The cameras IMHO are very poor. I have a $20 Creative USB webcam that has a dramatically better picture and wider field of view. The X10 idea is good and the ninja's are really quite good (except sometimes it looses single and gets stuck which sucks when you are viewing it over the internet). I'm hoping my latest purchase of a firecracker kit doesn't disappoint me.
