Title: Lamp Module (LM465) vs Appliance Module (AM466)

Hi all,

I have an outlet in the 2nd story of my foyer on an overhang that's controlled by a switch on the main floor (only thing on this switch). The outlet is only used at Christmastime for a 4' tree with lights on it. The lights are a 2 prong plug. I have an LM465 and an AM466. I want to just leave the switch on and put a plug in module to control up there. Any issues with using an LM465 like I do for my large Christmas tree and banister and various windows candles and mantles?

I didn't know if anything involving the switch would require the 3 pronged module to be used.

Should be no problem with using a two prong plug in either module. As the lights have no ground pin.

Are the lights small incandescent bulb or LEDs?

If they are LEDs then both modules may not turn them all the way off. LEDs draw so little power they may glow when off. In that case a small four watt night light bulb on the output of the module with the other LED lights should work.

The LM465 as a dimmer may have other issues with LEDs.

Nope, regular incandescent mini bulbs.
