Title: is there a time/date stamp?
Post by: dipchitblonde on April 13, 2010, 06:55:56 PM
hi, I'm looking at the value 2 cam system for 79$ with a motion detector add on.  does anyone know if it also records the date and time?  my needs would be moot without it.
thanks

No, that system is designed to send video to a TV or VCR, there is no time stamp.

hi dave, thanks for replying.  in the meantime after I added my question, I ended up speaking with a sales rep and I asked him the same question and he told me that it would stamp it.  I'm as concerned about the time as I am the date.  how would a recording hold up as evidence if there is no date on it?

on another note, apologies to whoever for apparently initially posting this thread in the wrong category.  I THOUGHT I posted it under the general category but when I came back to it today I see it was moved .....to general.   <blank look>

Apparently I was not looking at the proper $79 system, because there is nothing in this system that can time stamp.

If this is the system you were looking at, I hope you got the name of the rep that told you it would time stamp.

No probelm with the area you posted in.
I just thought you would get more responses in this forum area.

dave w; I don't even see anything that would record in the link you provided.

No there isn't...which is why I originally said the system sends video to a TV or VCR to the OP. I assume dipchitblonde realizes that, but I would like to know what system the X10 rep was refering to when he told dipchitblonde it would "stamp it".
