Title: An LED here and maybe one here too.
Post by: BoyntonStu on August 05, 2010, 08:15:18 PM
Add an LED to any ac module to indicate ON.

Add an LED to any ac module that switches power to indicate that its output is ON.  Appliance Module, etc.

BTW A simple add on LED would be to place it and its resistor across the appliance plug prongs.

Doing that  (across the prongs) would severely hinder plugging it in.  Better to sotter the LED wires to the prongs right at the case and super glue the LED to the top of the module case.

If you were going to super glue the LED to the top case, I would then add a plug with wires so that if you needed to work on the module that it would come apart easier.  Or you could solder across the prongs inside, but just put a viewing hole in the top case that would meet up with the LED.

The relay status sensor circuit in the module will keep a low current LED partially glowing even when off.

I have an extension cord with a light built-in to the clear plastic plug.   -:)

If you could get these plugs for your appliances, you'd know when it was on for sure.  ;)

Of course, it's a neon light, so it would glow all the time from the status sensor circuit   B:(
