Title: Lamp turn off when alarm going off
Post by: tybirdtybird on August 11, 2010, 09:23:27 PM
I have Ds7000 set I1. I have one lamp set at I1. This will turn on when the alarm sound.Have one lamp set I13 its on a timer it will go off when the alarm sound and stay off. Is there a way i can have the lamp don't go off when the alarm sounds without changing house code ?

Is the I13 module a lamp module or an appliance module?
Reason I asked. Some of us use appliance modules on CFL type lamps

Its appliance module.  Those night  lights are plug in to 3 prong ext cord so that's why I'm use appliance module. There is only one plug in that room. I need to get more TM751 module so i can control more lights around the house. Is there something better than TM751 ? We have about 3 breakers for the outlets that just down stair.

No.
Read page 23 of your instructions.  Up on alarm the DS 7000 transmits alternating "All Lights ON", "All Units OFF" on the set House Code. Anything on the DS7000 house code will get turned off.

Puck edit: fixed the quote.

Appliance modules don't respond to an All Lights On but do to an All Units Off.
Lamp Modules will follow the All Lights On All Units Off and flash.

As dave w indicated. They will go off and not back On.

You are using TM751s for better coverage?
More than one on the same House Code can lead to problems. They are not polite and will blindly send an X10 signal on the power line even if one was started by another TM751. The RR501 is polite and some automation sites still sell them.

Thats suck yeah i'm using TM751s for better coverage. If i change the house code i would have to get at least 3 TM751 i guess how the house is wired.

Get the RR501 transceiver (check http://www.automatedoutlet.com/  They sell them for $9.67 plus shipping.  X10 only sells them a part of a package.  The RR501 is "polite" and does not step on another transceiver's signals.

Would that work if they are another breakers ? The lamp i want to control are on 3 breakers. To control lights i use my iphone or SH624
