Title: nStinct Room names
Post by: JALinker on October 31, 2010, 02:00:55 PM
Is there a way to change the name of rooms in the X10 Pick Room listing?

For instance-  I do not have a basement, and would like to name that key something else...  is that possible?  I have not seen where I can, so if someone could point me in the right direction, that'd be great!

Thanks in advance!

Andy

Yes, you can.
Got to home, Setup, X10, More, Rename, and you can rename the rooms here.

Hope this helps.  >!

@Tom J
If you keep pressing the button for the letter you want, it'll go to the lowercase letter.
Example: If I keep pressing 2, I would get A B C 2 a b c.

Thanks yep after writing this I found it in the manual still a little confused trying to type Media Room so like in your example if you wanted Ac how would you delete the BC2ab when I backspace it deletes the c  ???  ???   Thanks!!

@Tom J:
Press it faster. If you press quickly it will go through the letters in the same spot. If you wait more than a second (maybe half a second) between presses, it thinks you're done with that spot/letter and moves on.

Hi anthonylavad!! Thanks it worked finally changed a few names now I see why I was having problems with my new cell phone! one last thing if you type in a letter and what to go back and erase it how do you do that without starting all over if that's possible I pressed the arrow key like it appears to indicate on the screen but it just starts the process all over again. Going to have to give you a brownie point for this one Thanks again!

You need to press the "(-)" key, not the left arrow key, to backspace or delete the last letter.  The "(-)" key is the one to the left of the "0" key and below the "7" key.
