Title: ABP (Automatic Button Pusher)
Post by: HA Dave on December 26, 2010, 06:27:03 PM
I noticed this "instructable" Automatic Button Pusher (http://www.instructables.com/id/The-Automatic-Button-Pusher/) (AKA: ABP) and was thinking... how come I haven't read of an X10 ABP?

I watched the videos and the ABP has a 6" metal arm plus solenoids, add what X10 modules need and it's probably too complicated and too expensive for X10USA to produce, even in their Chinese factory.

I was thinking of just making my own out in Dave_X10_L's garage. I know I have those big clunky [part native American/part white guy/non-Chinese] hands... but I really think a button pusher might be both handy and cool. So I am thinking I might give it a try.

Maybe you could drill a hole on the bottom of an appliance module and put a shaft extending out from the solenoid.  ;)  ;D
