I would have thought the auto updater would have been fixed for this release! :'( ::) :'

Me too. I guess it hasn't been fixed yet.
I've been told it is a back-end issue, so it won't require changes to AHP to work. Theoretically, once they fix it, you should be able to find the update using much older versions, too!.

Especially when Eric tried to get that fix out last week! ???
Also I don't notice any change in the UX17A configuration dialog must be subtle.
Not sure why code hasn't been added so the UX23A can perform the same functions
It is capable just the commands are a little different. ::) :'

I actually don't have answers for any of this  :(
However, the UX17A/UX23A functionality isn't a "Bug." I would classify it more as a "wish list" item.  B:(

Actually none of the stuff I noted is a bug in the software!
Not sure If the UX23A would be a wish item either altough maybe for some! ;)

I just installed 3.311 (no problems) but after the install there was a 143KB file entitled setup_AHP.exe sitting in one of my temp folders on the C: drive. I moved it to my AHP backup file, what is it?

I'm guessing you ran the installer from your browser, rather than saving it to your hard drive first.
When you run an executable straight from the web, your browser has to download it first, and then run it off the hard drive. That temp folder is where it stores the downloaded program so it can run it.
Most browsers leave a lot of stuff like this behind, since they have no way of knowing when the file is done being used.

Nope.  Downloaded it, moved it to the ZIP 250 disk that I keep all my AHP files in, then uninstalled 3.310 and installed 3.311.

Then I'm not sure. If you uninstalled first, then you likely would have used the "Full" installer, not the "Update" installer. (I'm guessing the full one).
I just checked - the updater is 134KB (not 143), so perhaps that is part of what the installer "stub" needs to download to do the rest of the install?
Did you notice anything similar after any previous installations?
What is the date stamp on that file?

The only other thing I can think of is that when running an executable off the zip drive, Windows might cache it locally, in case the media is ejected during the install. I can't verify that, but is sounds reasonable.

Never had that happen before.  I just checked the Zip 250 drive and the file size is 134 kb, the file date is April 15, 2011, 12:45:26 PM, exactly when I installed 3.311.   Is that possibly the update installer?

I downloaded both the full installer and updater.
Updater 133 kb uses 134 kb of disk space
Full Install file 233 kb used 236 kb of disk space.

I think I found a bug in 3.311.  Every time AHP is opened, it wants a download to the CM15A.  That's never appeared before.

Sorry, I'm not able to repeat that.
Has anyone else seen this with 3.311?

Verified on my system.  When exiting AHP and then reopening, AHP wants to sync or download to the CM15a.  B:(
So I do get the same results as Dan.

Okay, I was able to reproduce this on my Win XP SP3 system, but not on my Win7 Pro 64-Bit system.
I'm adding it to the bug list, and I'll let the developers know about it.

EDIT: I WAS able to reproduce it on windows 7 after switching to a different AHX file.
However, if I ignored the prompt to download on the next session, and exit AHP without downloading, I don't get the prompt on future sessions.
It definitely is a bug in the code somewhere.

Just for the record, I was not nuts.  I did uninstall it and re-install 3.310 which didn't show that and will use it until the next version of AHP after 3.311 is released.

Go back to 3.228

Been there, but I'm not going back as I'd have to reconvert all my modules back to the original status as 3.228 will not properly support the soft-start modules.

A simple prompt to download is no reason to revert to a previous version. ::) :'
I know as we all get older our memories fail and a gentil reminder is sometimes needed.
But most of the time I can remember if I added or removed something from my AHP setup :-[
I'm not sure why Dan you uninstall before you update? ???
I sure hope you've been defragmenting. ;)
Sure seems like a lot of extra work for nothing to me!

I always uninstall before updating AHP so no detritus from a prior version will screw up the new version. I've been burned twice.  Fifteen minutes to do everything tops.

When I converted to the newest version I noticed a few things... in some cases my modules selected were not in fact the actual ones in place (sometimes because of Insteon crossovers) and I had a bunch of modules that did not work correctly due to the soft start extended cose issues - I think I have most of those resolved. I also noticed a recurring RF reception M - MCDDVD  which I have not tracked down yet but never had before. Finally I seem to have some macros using conditions where the conditions are now being ignored. Anyone else experiencing this?

The recurring RF reception M - MCDDVD  is a outstanding bug AHP. Is seeing some security modules connect/disconnect signals sometimes replacing the batteries in the module will stop this, and sometimes not! ::) :'
I was able to stop all mine but one from being picked up this way. B:(
Of coarse you could always disable the transceived option for this house code.

Thanks ! I'll start replacing batteries and report back. (Did just removing and replacing them work, or do I need "new" batteries?)

I replaced all with new as it was time, but didn't get 100% satisfaction.
In the end I set house code M as not transceived.

I had to wait until I got home, but wanted to check my transcieved house codes, and M was not checked. Wierder.

I got mine all clear after few reset the code by: press and hold the test button until new code generate, remove batt, re-insert batt, then install the sensor again in AHP. Eventually, u will get rid of that M crap!

The files from the self extracting installer are placed in your system's temp folder so the OS knows it can safely delete these later.  The file you downloaded from the web contains these temp files and will copy them into the temp folder when run, so there is no need to backup these files.

For an explanation about the self extracting file see my post about the new 310+ installer framework.
http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=23042.msg131561#msg131561 (http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=23042.msg131561#msg131561)

The universal update installer does not self extract, and so does not place anything in your temp folder.
