Title: Help finding a X10 true rocker 3way switch and companion switch
Post by: harnell on July 08, 2011, 12:53:47 PM
Anyone know who makes a true rocker X10 switch and a matching companion switch?

Forgot to include that the switches need to be CFL capable.

Thanks,

All our Leviton X10 compatible switches have true rocker action.  I believe Insteon also has true rocker action.

To add to what Jeff provided.
The Insteon and Icon switches can have an X10 address added to them and they are two way. When locally changed. They send a signal back on the power lines. The dimmers use the older %dim command. So AHP may not understand the command if it is not a full On or Off.

There is NO Slave or Companion Insteon or Icon switch. Both are just linked together and follow each other, for Insteon signaling and the same X10 address in them for X10 signaling.  One may have it load wire capped off. They also need a Neutral power lead.

I have X10 addresses added to all of mine and they work fine. I use the relay versions that are fine with CFLs and other loads that do not like dimmers.

Jeff,
Which Leviton switches work for CFLs and have master and slave for 3 way operation?

We use the Leviton 16293 3-way switch and MS00R slave to do what you describe.  They are from the discontinued "red-line", which has been replaced with their electrically programmable "green-line".  (The red-line still has rotary switches to set the house and unit codes.)  Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the current Leviton green-line part number.

Note that the Leviton switches are over $40 each for the master, and about $15 for the slave.  Contact me by email if you would be interested a "pre-owned" red-line switch and slave.
