I would try both white and red to +12 volts and the bare ground to the -12.
With both white and red always on. Only one camera can be used as all functions will be active at all times.

Or... just wire-up a stereo plug as Brian H described here:  http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=16477.0

I've run a Ninja off a 12V battery myself. The setup was actually solar powered and I used a door-lock-type remote to cut down on power drain. You might also notice I modified the Ninja antenna to get better range:  http://www.youtube.com/suitmanIM#p/u/6/Ft9-yxNb47Q
