I have reg codes for activehome and activephone. When I :( install activehome on my computer the reg window pops up for activephone and either one of my codes work. PLEASE HELP DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!
-
Is it Active Home or Active Home Professional (AHP)? If AHP, did you get a CM15A or a CM19A/TM51 combine? If the former, did you register it? The Reg codes for AHP and Active Phone are different.
-
I have activehome pro with the CM15A. I am not new to Activehome I had it on this computer for years. Couple months ago I got infected with a virus and had to rebuild the OS. Activehome pro went back on fine a works but can not register it. I uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times and the registration keeps coming up as activephone, and my two reg codes do not work. By the way the two programs will register fine on my laptop.

Everytime I down load AHP the registration page comes up for APP. I have registration codes for both, but can not get AHP to register. Has anyone had this problem rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl On my laptop everything works fine :)% :)% :)%

Do you have the original registration for AHP still? There was no reason not to keep it, as we all know computers do fail. If you don't you will have to contact X10USA, they should still have the records from the original purchase.
-
Yes I have the original registration codes. Somthing strange is happening when I install ahp the reg window is active phone.
-
Try uninstalling Active Phone and rebooting the Computer, then try registering AHP. If successful and AHP is registered, then re-install Active Phone.
-
Thanks tried that. Uninstalled ActivePhone rebooted, uninstalled AHP rebooted. still the AHP registration come up as activePhone. Its like there is a file from Active Phone buried in the computer someware that is corrupting AHP. Any Ideas :)% :)% :)%

Uninstall AHP, then make sure to delete any DLL files in the folder where it was installed.
Then, reinstall ONLY AHP, and see what happens.
-
There must be something I am missing. I deleted everthing I could fine and still no luck!!!!!
-
Try using your ActivePhone registration code to register AHP. There's a difference between ActivePhone and ActivePhone Pro. Don't worry about the ActivePhone Pro Registration box.
-
Good conversation post. Nope I tried that. My active phone registration code will not work on the AHP, but when I install both AHP and AP the reg screen will say Active phone twice but Ap will register just not AHP.
-
Try uninstalling everything again and only install AHP, not installing Active Phone. If AHP gets registered then install Active Phone. Active Phone is an Add-on. When you uninstall, make sure all folders relating to AHP are removed before rebooting. Be sure to back up any .ahx files before uninstalling.
-
OK here we go. Uninstalled AHP through add or remove programs. deleted all of AHP files and the AHP folder. Did a search for active home files, found some in the registry, deleted those. Restarted then installed AHP through the x10 website. When the registration window came up again it said active phone, and my reg codes did not work. I would like to send you a screen shot of the registration window but can not attach it to this forum. If you send me a email address I will send it there. don't know what to do next very frustrating.

I have two possible theories:
1. AHP still thinks the ActivePhone plugin is installed, and is trying to register it.
With AHP installed, try to locate a file called "ahp_plugin.xml".
That's the file that dictates which plugins AHP tries to install.
You need to make sure that file is deleted before you can do your next install.
2. Your installer, for some reason, in installing ActivePhone.
I suggest re-downloading the installer for AHP, from here:
ftp://ftp.x10.com/pub/applications/activehomepro/setup_AHP.exe (ftp://ftp.x10.com/pub/applications/activehomepro/setup_AHP.exe)

For some strange reason, your link produces this "http://rumba.microfocus.com/' which is not http://ftp://ftp.x10.com/pub/applications/activehomepro/setup_AHP.exe

i realize the URL got messed up (the forum added it in as an HTTP link instead of an FTP link).
I corrected it.
However, I'm not sure why your system redirected it - perhaps you have a virus of some sort.

No virus, I simply copied what was on the post and the result.

Well, I tried it too.
For some reason, my browser did the same thing, probably because it was trying to load an FTP link (complete with the "FTP://" part with an "HTTP://" in front of it) as HTTP.
I did go back and correct the original link, though.

john mcdowell what windows version are you having issues with?
You'll need to enable the options to see hiddenfiles and folders as well as system files.
with out that enabled a search won't find the needed files to delete.
look in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\x10settings and C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\activehomepro if using XP.
You'll need to delete those folders before a reinstall.
I don't remember the location for win 7 and am not at home to pull it up.

Still no Luck AHP installs, but when the registration window pops up it wants you to register activephone. There is a file on my computer leftover from active phone that is corrupting AHP. I just can not find it.

Did you check every folder and subfolder on your PC? Not only Active Home Pro but also X10 under Common files. Also did you do a total uninstall? Even that does not always clear the X10 folder under Common Files. I've noticed that after at least 2 total uninstalls with AHP over the last few years.
-
I cleared out all the files I could fine. Does any one else know where there might be some hidden AHP or APP files?
-
You need to make sure every folder on your PC is accessible. On Windows 7 that might be a problem that takes time, for XP it is very easy. Active Home Pro and X10 are not hidden files in 7 or XP. BTW after a total uninstall delete all (both) files before a reinstall.

I think I have the answer.
When you install ActivePhone, it changes the overall ActiveHomePro application.
It removes the "ActiveHomePro" registration line, and replaces it with one for "ActivePhone." I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I'll mention it to the developers.
I figured out how to change it back.
There is a registry key. It is pretty buried down there (under one of those really long alphanumeric "CLSID" strings).
Do a search for "isActivePhone" (without the quotes), and you should find a value that is set to "1".
Make sure AHP is closed, and change it back to "0".
Restart AHP, and you should see the registration line for AHP again. You should then be able to enter your key.
Let me know how that goes.
-
I got a little more information from one of the developers.
Because of the way ActivePhone ties into AHP, which is apparently different from the way the other plugins do, the registration for ActivePhone takes over the one for AHP.
However, you should be able to register with the ActivePhone registration number.
If you still can't get it working, let me know. I'll go back to the developer and ask for more help on this one.
