Title: How to reboot AirpadX
Post by: hong on January 29, 2012, 12:02:50 PM
My AirpadX has frozen showing the home screen.  I have held the power button for more than 100 seconds, but it still does not shut down.  Is there another way to shut it down?

Hello Hong, Yes, there is.  If it won't power down, get a paper clip, and straighten it out, and insert it in the little hole just to the left of the micro USB port (it's also where the mic is).  push gently until you feel a click, and it will reset the Airpad.

Thank you so much, moore_tr.

It was driving me crazy.  I had to wait till the battery died to reboot it.  Fortunately or unfortunately, the battery life of AirpadX is short.  I will use this trick when the freezing happens next time.

How short is your battery life?  I can run mine for 10+ hours with my current ROM.

Let me test it, and report an accurate number tomorrow.

The battery life of my AirpadX is about 6 hours for moderate continuous use.

man, am I glad someone asked this question. You'd think that this woudl be information they'd put into the owner's manual. I've had my pad freeze up twice on me since getting it between Christmas and New Year's. It's a useful piece of information to have.

App named "Bad Ass Battery" keeps an estimate of battery life.  Mine on Airpad X (10") is showing about 6 hours.

I also have been using badass bat monitor on my original 7" 910. My average stays  around 19 hours. I keep a power cord handy most of the time.
