Title: download Amazon Appstore - error no SD card
Post by: newuser142 on February 01, 2012, 09:20:06 PM

I have had my airpadx for almost a month and have a few items that I cannot get to work.

When I go to www.amazon.com/app-email
I get an  this error . Why would I need an external SD card ?

! NO SD card
An SD card is required to download AMazon_APPstore-release.apk

I  tried downloading a few other apps not on market and get another error of no valid device

I downloaded the amazon market apk to laptop. When I tried connecting my laptop to tablet I get an error (I have VISTA) that it could not find a driver for tablet. Where can I find a driver so I can transfer from laptop to Airpad X ?

Thanks

I had the same issue the the AirpadX
It does require an sdcard in order to install the Amazon market
It is also required to be in the unit to run anything you download.
Also be aware that after the unit sleeps, you may have to unmount the sdcard and remount it to be able to use (a quirk)
The Airpad 7P has a 2g ghost sdcard in it.  I would guess they did this to accomodate the Amazon market.
You cannot use the Android Market on the Airpad unless you replace the OS with that of another vendor.  This also would probably void
your warranty.  Some of us don't see that as a problem.

Thanks, I guess I'll go buy an SD card. Any specify brand or  size ?
Does everything  that is downloaded get stored on the SDcard rather than the tablet ?

Not everything, but bits and pieces.
Any size, I've used 4g, 16g, 32g all work.  I use a separate one for backups.
