I bought my airpad a few weeks ago in the promise that ics would be out at the end of February. Well that didn't happen so I went in search of a compatible image. I found the actual China manufacture of these tablets and got a website where the image can be found. The tablet was originally called the Ployer MOMO 15. I have been using this image for a few days and it works great. Also the touch seems more sensitive. The only problem is that when I installed it its in Chinese, so just go into the language settings and change it. Also, get root unstaller to get rid of the Chinese bloatware. Hope this helps out. Just follow the flashing procedure posted by the x10 support team and select the Ics China image. Total time took me about 6 minutes.

Also here a video link from a YouTube member on how to change the language.

is the image rooted and does it have google play ?
-
I can guarantee that you will have nothing but problems with that OS - it is very bad.
A new ICS release is expected this week, and once it is tested I will post information about it here.
-
Yes it is rooted and it does have Google play. Also, I haven't had any problems yet but not to say I won't. Just found this image and posted it. If an official image is due out soon, then I can't wait.
-
If you read the first line of the link it says clearly that it is not an official version. In fact it is a piss poor beta.
Do not use it if you use YouTube and Netflix. You will be extremely sorry. >*<
Stay with the original version and do the mods that you can find on this forum to get Google Play.

Ployer has a custom version of ICS 4 on their website. It is custom and password protected. However, you can get the file directly here:
http://en.ployer.cn/uploadfile/201205/CM008-4-0514.rar (http://en.ployer.cn/uploadfile/201205/CM008-4-0514.rar)
The file is considerably smaller and I have not tested it yet.

I installed ics403 with alittle help including fixing they keys... now it seems wonderful and I have google play/store.... what is the downside? I haven't found any yet.... anything I. Should watch for Repair Depot?.... one other thing in vista livesuit needs to be running when you plug in the tablet in order for the format command to come up..(after you do the 8 Key presses)

I am also running the ics version updated late last month from ployor. It works great. There are some bugs like some chinese still exists and spell check does not Work. However it has google play, supports netflix and videos and hasn't crashed in the last week I've been using it. Gingerbread is much buggier. Obviously this version is not ready for x10 to put there name on, and with the google license Junk, they can't refer you to this, but it's easy to find with a little digging.

I installed the image and surprise, its an AirPad build LOL. I did the mods that you can search for in this forum and Google Play (Android Market) is installed!

X-10 knows we are here, they can always ask us to test their builds, we find them anyways so there is no secret LOL
-
i have put it out in the forum that i would be a tester for new images

Ok on 4.03 I don't seem to have the spell check / chinese errors that were reported by C...
Hairface - question - what if any advantage do you notice with 4.03 with button fix vs the new X10 Beta with google play patched in?
Is is worth my trouble to dump 4.03 (which I love) for the 4.05 X10 beta?
-
the 0514 image is still 4.0.3...
give me another day or so to evaluate it. I got busy with my linux box (setting up android builds). It does seem to be a bit faster when scrolling through screens and loading apps ( have not timed it but visually it seems to be loading stuff faster) the volume keys work without having to mod the keyfiles so that is a plus for people uncomfortable getting into the OS.

It is working great so far for me as well

Hairface - if you decide there is advantage to the new build, I might ask a big favor and have you PM the instructions for the Android Market Hack. Now that I have Google Play I would never want to be without it.
Thanks

First u need to be willing to reflash device if something goes wrong....
if in doubt of any step please ask for clarification.
follow this link and download the file http://www.box.com/s/8obf8i5dj34cljq6axtk
The file u download "com.android.vending-1.apk" needs to be renamed to vending.apk(see below)
go to http://www.freewarelovers.com/android and download/install
Android Terminal Emulator and File Expert
open the Terminal Emulator app and type su then hit <enter>, if u see the # then u have root privileges.
type the follwing commands
cd / <enter>
chmod 777 system <enter>
chmod 777 system/app <enter>
hit the home key and start up the File Expert app
it will open and list the folders on ur system
navigate to the system/app folder
on far right side of app bar u will see a plus sign
hit the plus sign and it will open a tab for you
in that tab navigate to ur vending.apk file (default was /mnt/sdcard on mine)
if file has not been renamed rename it now using file expert
after file is renamed select the check box on right then hit copy
select the first tab where u should have navigated to ur /system/app folder and hit paste
reopen the terminal emulator program type
su <enter>
cd /system/app <enter>
chmod 644 vending.apk
on my XL all files in the app folder were owned by user bluetooth so i just followed suit, u may not have to do this but mine works and it has not caused any problems.
if u type ls -l <enter> u will see a list of all the files and who owns them.
to change owner type
chown bluetooth vending.apk
if all went well when you reboot u should have google play working.
Jim,
Here it is. When you get the chance learn how to use the search function, it will help you greatly and you won't need to wait so long to get an answer if it is already posted.
-
I actually did use the search function... but still didn't find it.
I appreciate you taking the time to repost it for me.
I must say as forums go... the people here are very helpful, but quite often links and "how tos" are posted under topic headlines that don't match up.
Thank you again for taking the time to post.
and re-post...
Jim
