Title: Rf transceivers
Post by: mareh on April 18, 2012, 01:17:15 PM
What's the best transceiver to use to boost the window/door sensors and other x10 devise.

There really is none from X10.
A X10 tranceiver (TM751, RR501) receives the RF signal from a RF remote (Palm Pad, Key Chain remote, etc) or non security motion sensor (xxxeye) then retransmits the command to the homes powerlines for module control.

If you are using a CM15A with software that understands X10 Security sensors then this tranceiver is very good.

The WGL V572A is a very good transceiver but does not do the Security Modules.
They do make a V572RF32 that takes a Security Sensor message and maps it to a standard X10 message on the power lines.

Yeah, that's the one I meant. Thanks for the correction Brian!

so are you saying that the v572rf32 will help with the window/door sensors?

Mounted in a central location. It should receive X10 RF devices well and get the commands back on to the power lines.

It will take a security sensors RF messages and map them to a standard X10 power line message. That can trigger things like macros.

It will not extend a RF security message to a security console directly.

The X10 RF repeater was discontinued a long time ago and I understand it messed things up anyway.
