The power button on my XL became inoperative. Since my tablet is out of warranty, I pulled the back off to find the button is defective. Anybody know if parts are available? I guess the easy way would be a new board. The button doesn't come up on any of my usual electronics suppliers. I hate to throw away a 3.5 month old tablet!
Thanks.

I would kludge a switch on the back before throwing it away..
Check out "All Electronics" or "Electronic Gold mine" for a small SMD style switch.

Mouser stocks pretty much any kind of switch you may need.

Thanks guys, I use all of those electronic supply houses normally. I found a couple at Mouser that are a little big but I think I can "micro surgery" one in place without too much hacking to the back cover. I was hoping for a direct replacement, but i'll make it work. I'm gonna hold off just a little while in case someone has a board laying around or x10 has one for sale before I attack it.

Last time I tried micro-component soldering, I damaged the copper trace..... If you bought using credit card, maybe you can check if your card doubled the warranty? X10's 90 day warranty period is way too short for my taste. The competitors have 1yr and you can double with right the credit card.

Pseeker,
I have Smd rework experience, I was trying to get it back to something close to OEM, which is why I was inquiring about a board and not just the tactile button. That being said......
I found out today that my XL was just under warranty...just...when I inquired about it. The nice people at X10 emailed me an RMA for it even though it's more than a few days out now!
Thanks for all the helpful responses from everybody.
