Title: I can only find the WS467
Post by: deadtom on August 14, 2012, 03:57:34 PM
As I understand it, the WS467 is merely a receiver. It does not report it's on/off status. This seems to be the only switch that I can find though, other than the decorative switches, which I don't want. I know that I've read that there are switches that will report their position so that a timer can be set up but can't seem to find them anywhere.

Can someone tell me the part number for this type of switch?

Thank you!

Check here. http://www.smarthome.com/_/X10_USA/_/1yN/land.aspx?src=WG1014541&gclid=CNjetJPq8K8CFUOo4AodTFSEWw

Most of the Smarthome switches will report status. They are getting out of the X10 protocol business, but still have many models available.

But you may not have a choice about the decorator style.

The ToggleLinc Dimmer still supports adding an X10 Primary Address.

There are a few differences with the Smarthome modules.
They need a Neutral Power Wire in the switch box.
They use a different method to report dim levels.
So if you locally dim it. The preset dim% will not be recognized by AHP with a CM15A if that is what you are using.
Note that dim to 0% does send an Off and Brighten to 100% does send an On. Not a preset dim%

Short test of a ToggleLinc Dimmer. A8 Address added for testing.

Messages sent on power line from ToggleLinc using local toggle button.

Turn On:
R: A8 - 4:09:05 PM 8/14/2012

Turn Off:

Actually my above data was from a very short lived Smarthome model X10WS467DI. That was a 2466D ToggleLinc Dimmer they changed the label on and though we would never figure out it.  ;D

I think that will do fine. Thanks for the information!

I am still kicking myself for not purchasing more of those ToggleLinc X10 switches.  I figured they'd be around for a while and I'd get a bundle when they put on some kind of a buy x get one free type sale.  Now, I have to pay 2x instead of saving 10%.  <sigh>

I just got two 2466SW (relay, not dimmer) switches, but I bought them from Amazon.
The base price was the same, but I got free super-saver shipping on them.
I'm very happy with them (and the others I have in my house, too).
