Title: SC12A: New is much worse than old
Post by: Ohio Hobby on September 01, 2012, 09:41:52 AM
Bought a new security system package with the new console type and motion detectors.   The console is pretty and I like the interface, but it's signal reception is horrible.  The SC12A is not usable, do not purchase this unit. Luckily, I had the old console with the nice big external antenna.  It works great with the new motion detectors.  Sure it's interface is a bit clunky and it's somewhat ugly, but it works.

There are some threads here on improving the RF range for the SC12 Console.
I have a fairly small area with sensors so RF range for me was OK.
Mine is around 1.25 years old and now the LCD screen has one horizontal row of dots out and on a warm day another row goes out.
