Title: Suggestions for improvements (New Airsights)
Post by: Tuicemen on April 16, 2014, 08:34:16 AM
I know the new line has only been available for a short time and not all of the planed models have been introduced but there is always room for an improvement.
Please don't make suggestions for improvements to the old line as this can't be done.
I'm not even sure the firmware can be made compatible with the old line.
Authinx has made it clear they wish to have customer input as to what these are capable of doing.

What could be simpler? They even have video (http://youtu.be/KAjUloS5t-k). And like I am fond of saying: Video is gooder than readin.

Maybe a user could post some screen shots along with their suggestions so those of us that don't have a camera can see what is meant.
Of coarse Video is always better! rofl

I've been informed the Camera web interface is similar to the old Airsights as it is a basic IP camera standard used by most manufactures.
Once suggestions start to be implemented it will become more customized.
The Software for Androids and the IOS is made special (custom) for these cameras.
Suggestions can be made for any of the camera software.

I'm currently thinking about one of these to test.
Active members of my forum can help me decide what to get. I'll post a review, screen shots and possibly a link once I have a camera set up.
This may help others that are contemplating getting one.
It will certainly help members, that don't have one, make suggestions for improvements.  ;)

THANKS!!!! I am thinking one would make for a great way to check the garage door..... after I've driven away.

I downloaded the Android app  (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tutk.AirsightP2PCam264)for the Airsights to have a look before I get my camera.
It appears to only handle Airsight cameras. :( The option to add other brands needs to be available.
Looking over other apps by the developer there are about 10 other camera apps they have designed.
Though the I like the looks of this I'm unsure if it will replace my current app I use for IP camera viewing.
The option to add other brands may change my mind!

Link to Apple app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ip-camera-viewer-airsight/id806062514?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4) shows the two are very singular in looks and options.

I now have a Outdoor XX52A Airsight and have started a thread for the review (http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=28797.0).
I have submitted several suggestions for improvements which were forwarded to the manufacture.
The suggestions are all web interface related here what I've suggested thus far:

1: Make the web interface universal, include pan tilt control and all options for any of the Airsights that way you can control all options for a camera no matter which one you have logged into (as long as you have the privileges).

2: include the option to send a web command on motion detection similar to a email alert.
this way you could tell another camera to move to a set point.
this would also allow it to trigger a event with the new WiFi module once it is released.
There are other possibilities this would open up as many software have web command abilities

3: Add the option to turn off the IR light (not sure if this can be done might need a hard ware change)
this causes colors to be off compared to cameras that have this function.

4: Add the option to use no-ip.biz as a DDNS (this is a free service) or for the user to be able to type in a specific DDNS
The manufactures DDNS doesn't work for me, I get a error connecting showing in the status screen (this might be my flaky router)

5: Beef up security(i'm not going into details here)

6: When switching to other cameras display that cameras alias

If anyone has a old Airsight that was a PTZ the manufacture would like a screen shot of it's interface.
in order to make my first suggestion workable.
Everything else seems to be falling into place except the sending of web commands but they are working on that too.
