Title: Running Active Home Pro under Windows 8
Post by: RudiL on April 22, 2014, 08:05:27 PM
I am new to this Forum and don't really know if this question has been asked before.
I have been using Active Home Pro for some time, but now need to change computers. My new computer is operating under Windows 8, but when I try to install the Active Home Pro software I get a message " Unable to connect to server"
How can I resolve this problem.
Thanks in advance.
Rudi

Your problem is not with Windows 8. It is the fact that X10 Wireless Technologies went bankrupt and the new owners of the X10 Brand Name have not gotten the registration and software servers running again.
The European AHP and Tuicemens conversion program have solved many of the issues. Except for Smart Macros, the plug ins are not included.
There are threads here and on Tuicemens web site on how you may find a fix. Until the software or servers can be updated.

Actually the SmartMacros and OnAlert are included they like AHP aren't registered and currently can't be.
They do all work once you close the registration nag screen.
