Title: CM15A EPROM
Post by: racerfern on December 15, 2015, 02:15:04 PM
How long does it take the CM15A to lose its memory once it is unplugged and the batteries are out?

I ask because for example the SC1200 holds memory for quite a while after total disconnect. It might be upwards of an hour. I am able to tell because the PIN holds and the sensors are still paired even though it appears they are not.

So my interest is in the CM15A since there is no way to read anything on it as far as I can tell.

Thanks!

The SC1200 has an EEPROM in it and the information is not lost with power loss. It will stay there until changed or erased.
We had an owner of the Radio Shack 49-1000 version of the SC1200. It had the original owners new PIN number in it as it was a return to the store.

The CM15A has a small 24C65 EEPROM in it but I don't know what is stored in it and what is lost when there is no power.

I believe the CM15A batteries only power the clock. Nothing is lost.
