Title: CM15A commands not recognized
Post by: audiology on July 31, 2017, 02:07:12 PM
An X10 junkie since the '80's,  I have been successfully using Tuicemen's excellent AHP version for  lighting control in my CT home.

This morning, all modules are unresponsive.  I unplugged the CM15a,  replaced the 4 aaa cells, reinstalled the AHP program,  cleared and then reloaded the macros from the USB-connected CM15a.  I even reset the house 200A service  master circuit breaker to kill "ghosts".

My Monterey analyzer acknowledges AHP transmitted signal addresses and on/off actions with a 2.1 (mv?) value but physical modules are unresponsive.  The analyzer notes system noise levels .5ms = 9mv and .2 to .9ms  = 11mv.

Is this an excessive  signal-to-noise ratio issue?

Suggestions are appreciated?

You may want to double check your CM15A's PLC signal strength.
It should be in the volt range if you are measuring on the CM15A location.
Dave did signal strength tests.

If it is 2.1mv. Either something is acting like a severe signal sucker or the CM15A has issues with its power line transmitter.

The troubleshooting information in the X10 wiki indicates 100mv and above power line signals for X10 modules.

I suspect the power supply of your PC is starting to act up I've seen many go overnight affecting a x10 setup, power down the PC then unplug it remove the USB from the CM15.
Test your X10 setup with the PC unplugged if you still see the same performance the power supply wasn't the issue.
