I have a fancy programmable LED underwater light in my swimming pool. The light program is selected by switching the power off and on to cycle thru the built-in programs, so there is more in the module than just LEDs. I'd like to be able to turn it on and off with X10, but both lamp and appliance modules still apply a small current thru the load even when it is "off" and I'm not sure that would be a good idea in this case.
The situation if further complicated by the fact that the light is fed from a GFI and the existing manual switch is between the GFI and the light - and this is all outdoors, with the GFI and switch in a weatherproof box.
What X10 compatible switch would be appropriate for this setup?

Pentair SAM?
I think there have been others who have posted about this. You might try a search, or at least throw out a model number.

The new CFL friendly Appliance Modules have no Local Control Sensing Voltage on the output.
Just a very minimal am I On or Off current.
So the later ones would put much less voltage back on the LED controller. Over the older ones with Local Control Sensing.
I don't think it would effect the controller as it would probably load it down to nothing.

Does anyone know if the current edition of the XPFM wired-in module also has the CLF-friendly circuitry? If so, then I can probably fit one of those into the system.

I did this years ago. I just replied the outdoor light switch for the pool light with a Duma me one. Ws467 I think? And I can control and dim the pool light from my phone. Super cool.

I use an XPDF with an LED pool light and have had no problems. However, mine does not have the color change feature.
