Many of us old timers have been trying to increase the wife acceptance factor of a X10 automated home for years.
The introduction of voice assistance helped a lot but this unit actually got my wife to ask for the app on her phone. :)%
Looks like I might beable to toss all the x10 remotes laying arround into my x10 storage bin or maybe the trash.( I know thats where my wife would like to see them rofl )

My PalmPads have made it back to storage with the exception of the one (2) in the Home Theater (because of volume levels. But I got an Echo voice remote for there.

I have to go and pick up a new storage bin Mine is full!
I thought I bought a big enough Rubbermaid one just a few years back for my old X10 stuff. B:(
Maybe it is time to go through it a though out the obsolete stuff. rofl

Looking for a misplaced wireless keyboard/mouse dongle the other day.... I searched the USB ports of 4 unused laptops and 4 (also unused extra) full sized PC's. Which made me wonder why I had purchased a Raspberry Pi unit anyway. Your not alone with extra tech stuff that may need liberated.
Little plug-in HA interfaces/HUBS.... programed/monitored/controlled via a phone... may be the space clutter saver/simplifier we need.

Yes I agree this little thing can be plugged into any hard to get at outlet once all phones are configured.

Mine just arrived! I don't think it was there earlier. But it was a tiny box in a white plastic wrapper.. covered with a skiff of snow... my IR camera could have missed it last night. Now.... where is that manual? And I'll turn on the printer.

Dave w help update the manual spending a lot of time fixing small issues typos and such.
I don't believe the manual is posted yet as Authinx was to add higher end graphics.
a draft can be found here: http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=29836.75

That's OK... I may be able to wing it. Right now... with an abundance of caution... I am allowing the HUB to acclimate to room temperature (it got cold outside) before I stick it into the wall. Found a nice plug for it... gathered a sheet/list of modules and switches unit/code locations/names.

Make sure you can access this outlet until you have all Phones configured to it as each phone needs to scan the QR code.
The reason is each Modules QR code is unique it contains a password for communication.
The app is really self explanatory the manual really isn't requires it is just something I suggested so users that were sitting on the fence about getting a unit could have more info prior.
It is a good Idea to let the unit warm up prior to plugging in! ;)

Yep not my first [QR code] rodeo. I take a pic of the codes on my phone which I can use for other phones. Then I also forward the pic to my PC so its also available at a later date.

Excellent Idea since you can then scan from you PC monitor and won't have to get at and unplug the WM100! :)%

Re WAF increase, Daniel Suthers (creator of HeyU) recently had a health scare that caused him to consider how his wife would handle HA when he may no longer be around. He decided on "moving everything off Heyu and onto the Alexa platform."

What are the QR codes in the User Manual for?

My wife doesn't use Alexa very much other then to show her off to friends.
She does love her phone though! rofl

The other night we went out for dinner and were late getting back.
while my wife stumbled for her keys I pulled out my Phone and pulled up the X10WiFi app.
As she was trying to get the key into the lock I turned on the porch light.
Hey!!! she said as she turned arround and looked at me with a very puzzeled look.
"How?"
She then noticed me grinning with my Phone in hand. "You turned the light on!" she said with a smile.
Man that was priceless! rofl

The WAF just keeps going up with this module! :)%

Which X10 module do you use for the porch light?
-
I use to have a socket rocket for the outside porch light but put in a new fixture and added LEDs and went with the XPS4 wall switch.
