The app has the settting for use or not to use DST so you don't have to sync with your phone when a time change occurs
The developer couldn't figure out how to handle areas that didn't have DST so this check box to disable auto changing was suggested.
-
So, all my exiting setting have the "non-DST" enabled by default. That seems wrong.
When I disable the setting,a den attempt to save, I get an error. And the beat goes on...
-
Android or Iproduct?
-
Android. .26 firmware. Latest app from google play.
-
I moved this from the revision history thread and started a new one. Sorry for the confusion.
-
Deedee, can you post a screenshot? I'm not seeing the setting.
-
Attached. What’s the trick to resize the image?

the non DST setting being disabled by default would make sense as there are more areas that use it then not. the non DST is disabled by default in Android for me.
have you tried deleting the app in your phone then reinstall and connect to an existing Hub?
I've had to do this the last two updates to get things working B:(
-
I will try a reinstall.
Note that the option is OFF when adding a new device, but defaults to ON with existing timers. When I turn it off, I get the error trying to save.
Update: same error.
-
ya ,sounds like issues I had last update till I reinstalled.
-
Deleted app
Reinstalled app
Reset to factory settings
Connected to existing hub
Synced data from hub
Chose device with dusk timer
Disabled "non-dst" setting
Attempted save
Error
-
is this IOS or Android?
is your firmware 0.0.26? r- run the firmware check for update.
-
Android app v2.0.10
Firmware 0.0.26
-
Looks like the hub data is corrupt if this works for adding a new device.
The last update I had to factory reset the HUB in order not to get the error pop up.
Updates should not be this difficult! >*<
-
Give me a backup option, and I’ll reset the hub! B:(
-
I tried to add a new device. The non-dst defaults to off. However, I get the same "the APP failed to add the device" error.
So, it fails to save on both new and existing timers.
Again, I’m doing this on android, using app 2.0.10 and 0.0.26 firmware.
-
I get the same error message on my phone running android 5.1 but not on my tablet running android 6.0.1
I have been getting the error message on my phone for the last few days trying to figure out why the dusk/dawn +/- 90 was not working. I deleted then re-installed the app but still get the message. I did not want to do a factory reset of the wm100 and after reading the posts here will just make any changes with my tablet.
-
My lights turned on early - in fact, about an hour early. So, the WM100 thinks I’m in a non-DST area. I had to go in and add 60m to all my dusk timers. Lovely. Silly me for upgrading.
Update: before the WM100, I was using my "low-tech" PR511 flood to turn on my lights at "real" dusk. Quite reliable, unless it gets super dark in the middle of the day due to a storm. That rarely happens. So, I’ve deleted my WM dusk timers, and I’m back to the PR511...for now. Forever?
-
My v1.2 iOS app does not have this setting and uses standard time instead of DST or my phone time. Bizarre.
-
Did you upgrade the firmware? I think that’s where the problem is. Only the android app has been updated, but both my iOS and android apps report the new firmware. I can’t change DST setting on android app because there is a bug, and I can’t change it on iOS because the app hasn’t been updated!
-
Seems I'm not the only one? Updated hub firmware and android app (iOS n/a yet??).
Here in central NJ:
Lights went on at 6pm (0 offset). Sunset 6:58/ Dusk 7:25.
Lights went off at 5:26am (-15min). Dawn 6:16/Sunrise 6:43.
Firmware update did request time synch.
Thoughts on this? Thank you all!!!
-
I have an Android but I did see simular issues prior to deleting the app from the phone then reinstalling.
The app didn't auto update for me thought Google play store stated it had. ::) :'
Even though I had the newest firmware the app wasn't. This prevented the new options from displaying which makes sence.

Ok, just noticed something that may have/probly is at the root. Android update had me at non-dst and -19 minute offset for each setting. Let me watch this over a few days! Thanks!

Same with me. However, I can’t deselect the DST option and save. I assume that your save worked. What version of android are you running? Tnx.

Samsung Tab A- running 7.1.1. X10 App is 2.0.10. Hub is at 26.. can't check, server down!

DST was working fine for two days without any offset. Last night it turned on the lights two hours earlier! I have not touched anything. Now two days in a row. Sunset is about 6:30. It worked for two nights. Then it turned on the same lights at 4:30 twice now. Anyone else having problems?

Mine is working fine. I have the setting off.

Things are now working on time once I reset the time on the WM100 with my iPhone. I'm not sure why the time was offset by two hours on the WM100. We may have had a power failure. Can't this thing store the time? It sure would be nice to se what time the WM100 has in one of the windows.

I was also surprised that the unit does not report its time.
-

Nope. It has a real-time clock, but it isn't backed-up by battery. So when you unplug the unit (or you have a power failure), the clock resets. Not the smartest design (in my opinion) for a device that's supposed to run timers and such.
-
I would have expected it to do an automatic re-sync with a device. If it doesn’t report the time, one has no way of knowing if a user-initiated sync is required. Brilliant.

It is suppose to do this (an automatic re-sync with a device) without notification however with the latest update that may have been broken B:( ::) :'

How do we know if it’s working or broken? ;)
-
If it is broken youll get a notice to sync your time when the hub is off. If it is working youll get no notification. However I agree the app should display the Hubs current time on initially opening the app.

That still requires the app to be opened. So if you don't have the app open when power comes back on, you're out of luck. And if you're in another timezone (on vacation, for example), then a time sync would reset it to your *local* time, not the local time of the unit. Also a problem. Even without a clock battery, I would think the unit should be able to reach out to the Internet when it powers up, and pull the correct time for it's set location. But they didn't write the software that way. And they probably never will, unfortunately.
-
Authinx continues to try and get the developer to add code to sync time with the internet. However they keep being told the hardware wont allow that which I personaly think is B.S.
Authinx admits the lack of battery backup for the clock was an over sight. when I enquired about the clock maintaining time the factory told them that wouldnt be an issue.
-
when I enquired about the clock maintaining time the factory told them that wouldnt be an issue.
They probably meant it would not be an issue for them. rofl
-
rofl I did press the issue but not hard enough :-[
They kept saying the apps would look after it. >*<

How hard is to store the offset from GMT and reset it to that after a power failure? I don’t want it reset to any device because I might be in a different time zone than the controller. It doesn’t matter in China where there is only one time zone for the whole country. Maybe time to return my unit.
