Instructions on how to set up the Alarm system. This is a very good example of triggering lights in an automation setting. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jsL_fAJ5-5w

Homegenie is basically a platform agnostic program. It was originally designed to run in Windows but it can now run in most of the Operating Systems available today. It was because of this it was chosen as an ideal software to set up on a single board computer like the Raspberry Pi. Being a server software it does not require all the peripherals like monitors, keyboard, mouse etc attached.

It was chosen along with the Ha Bridge to form the basis of a Pi X10 Hub. Of course it was the installation that was going to be the biggest hurdle. That's now been resolved with the download image.

What further information do you require on the setup and use.

Mic_  My whole AH setup is running of a Pi ZeroW board it runs every thing AHP ever did and much, much more.
The Hub will even allow you to view your X10 Airsight cameras if you have them(samples included) However it is possible to view almost any IP camera made.
I'll be posting the Setup and install of the PiX10Hub image tomorrow if all goes well.
I can tell you that there are a couple of pieces of software you'll need to get to write the image file and install the Hub. These will run from almost any platform.

@T - Suggestion: It might make finding the tutorial easier for new folks if the link in the News header pointed directly to it.

One I posted elsewhere. How to create an automation macro http://forums.x10.com/index.php?board=168.0

The link noted just goes to another board, on which I do not see an entry for a macro how to video (unless I am missing it).

I am trying to find a way to duplicate an AHP macro I had where if someone manually turns the light on to my back deck, it will turn off after 10 minutes.

I created a Program in HomeGenie, but not 100% sure I have it configured correctly.  I think the Trigger Code is what would be used to identify the light that was turned on, and then the Program code would have a Delay of 300 seconds (for 5 minutes) and then issue the command to turn off the light.

Is there a better place to look for assistance / tutorial for how to set up a Macro/Program ?  Thanks

The command Pause is used to add a delay.

Have a look at this link http://old.homegenie.club:8080/www.homegenie.it/forum/index22c6.html?topic=1366.0

Go down to Michaels post and you'll see an .hgx file which you can download. That will basically cover everything you are looking for

Did you define a trigger code. Not obvious from the screen cap

Yes, the Trigger is when B5 has a Status.Level greater than 0.

I didn't see a specific way to check B5 On

Ok. I see your logic now

When back deck is on wait for 300 then turn off

I need to get access to a computer so in the meantime have a read of this. Might be helpful

Here's a link to Bkenobi's GitHub with some fine examples of automation. Just download the GitHub by typing wget https://github.com/bkenobi/HomeGenie_Apps from your Raspberry Pi and you can import any of them you choose into HG
