Title: Smart Macros for Free
Post by: jeff h on February 04, 2005, 03:16:19 PM
With the RF finally working, it's time to
try to actually use AHP for something.
Well, besides logging RF Motion Sensors for
days.

I went to purchase the RCA 10-pack for $49
and poked around the X10 site looking for
sales (as usual).

If you buy Smart Macros, you get a $50
voucher.  (Immediately) Use that on the RCA
10-pack and your total bill is $49.98.
Unfortunately, you now have to pay
shipping.  I went ahead and picked up one
extra items.

smartmacros.html

This probably is only works if you need the
10-pack.  But, at $5 a module - it's a
pretty good deal.

I know Smart Macros may have some issues.
But, for free, I'll give it a whirl.  It wil
probably save me some VB work.

That is how I got my SmartMacros...  Buyer
beware though, the $50 did not apply
correctly and it took about a month for them
to respond to e-mails and correct it.

Say - has anyone noticed?  If we got a nickel
for each time the phrase "Buyer-Beware" is
used in connection with X-10 in these forums,
we could use the money to buy their
Smartmacro package, and have a bit left over
for our savings accounts!

I did it all in one order.  So, it should
work ok.  Amazingly, it took $50 off the
49.99 price and I ended up with a $49.98
bill - so I had to order something else to
get free shipping.

I got SmartMacros essentially for free
doing this also, was looking to get a WS13a
and a ws14a slave to control a ceiling fan
with CF lights for a 3 way application, saw
this promo and picked up another item to
avoid the shipping cost.  Worked out well.
