Title: 'ON' macro is making brightness 100%
Post by: bob linca on April 20, 2005, 01:15:14 AM
A motion triggered macro that is set to
turn a light ON, will make a dimmed light go
to full brightness.

'Bright 100%' is being transmitted, and
not 'ON', which is what it did originally.

Is this how it is meant to work?

That's how it's designed. An absolute ONfor a
lamp module (or other dimmable module) is
sent as bright 100%. We plan to change this
so you can send either ON or Bright 100%, but
we haven't gotten there yet.

Bob -

The work-around for this is to define
a dummy (appliance) module at the SAME
address as your lamp module.  Then point
your macro to the dummy module, and it will
send it a simple "on" command, which should
resume the last dimming level, if you're
using LM14A's, or something similar.

Hopefully X10 will be updating the
macro interface soon.
