Title: A Clock Question
Post by: stephen on May 08, 2005, 08:03:28 AM
How do you know if the clock in CM15a is
working properly (other than lights go on
and off unexpectedly)?

Does Hardware Configuration..show the time
in the interface or the time from your PC?

Also is activity stored in the cm15a, so you
can retrieve it at a later date?

Thanks

The time in the interface is shown in the
status report.

Activity is not stored in the interface.  The
interface must be connected to the PC if you
want a record of the activity.

I read (and use) a technique where I plug a
digital clock into an appliance module and
set up a timer to turn it off at 11:59pm
and on at 12:00am.  Since most digital
clocks will reset to 12:00am after a power
outage, you can determine if the clock in
the CM15a is accurate by checking if the
time on the digital clock is accurate.  I
wish I remembered who came up with this
technique so that I could give credit where
it is due.

I posted that idea here several months ago.
I still use my coffee maker clock to check
that CM15a cycled that appliance module at
midnight. I have never seen a CM15a clock
error and the CM15a has been disconnected
for weeks and sometimes more that a month at
a time.

Thanks Andy.  I still use your technique.
I once had a short period where the clock
was gaining a large amount of time each
day.  Everything seems to have been working
properly for the past couple months.
