Title: 12V Malibu Landscape Lighting Question
Post by: tim pickering on August 17, 2005, 11:07:54 PM
Has anyone any experiance or suggestions
on connecting 120Vac to 12Vdc tranformer
for landscape lighting? It is connected to
outside 120Vac outlet (GFI type). I was
told modules and/or outlets would not work
through or past GFI circuits. The only way
I see to make it work is replace the GFI
outlet with a X10 outlet. Any suggestions...

Thanks in advance, ...Tim

I have 5 landscape lighting transformers
actuated with X10 Appliance Modules.  They're
all plugged into GFI protected outlets and
all have been running satisfactorally for 8
years.

I understand there is some newer type of
recepticle safety protectors - can't remember
the name - which may block X10 signals.

I to have my landscape lighting plugged into
an appliance module and that is plugged into
a GFI outlet. It has been working fine for
many years.

Followup on my previous response: The new <BR>type of recepticle safety device I mentioned
is the AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter).
