Title: Mini spiral neon lamps
Post by: danielc on October 09, 2005, 10:20:06 AM
Hi there, I am trying to find an X10
controlled wall switch that can drive (non
dimmable) mini spiral neon lamps. It is the
kind of lamp I have outside of the house,
in the garage and in the basement. I would
like to control them.
I did some searches without success.
Thanks for your help.
Daniel.

NEON? or compact flourescent? If it is the
flourescent type then you can use a regular
appliance type switch or the special rated
switches.

The relay or mewchanical switch type should
work. The WS13A is a decorator type with a
mechanical switch in it. Toggled by an X10
Line Signal. Other manufacturere also make
such wall switches. NOTE! This switch needs
a Neutral wire in the wall switch box. You
may want to look before buying. Most of the
other brands also need thet neutral. An
Appliance Module pluged into the wall may or
may not work. The Appliance Modules have a
local sensing circuit that cause some lamps
flicker and turn back on.
