I have two MS14As mounted (foam tape for now)
on the side of my home along the front walk
and porch. Goal is to detect person(s) coming
up the walk and onto the porch.
My wife is a gardener. We have trees and
shrubs and flowers and bushes and plants, oh
my! I'm seeing a LOT of triggers, especially
when it's breezy (not even windy). Best I can
tell no human or animal is out there.
I thought these devices were at least
somewhat IR heat sensitive, or do they
respond to ANY motion? If so, I'm in trouble.

It uses an IR sensor to detect motion as a
temperature change. Many have noted false
triggers from things like wind and other
things.

They are waaaaay too sensitive. I am using
the MS-14A the same way but in order to get
it to work worth a darn, I had to go in and
change the gain resistor on the integrator
and lower the gain to about 1/5th of the
factory shipped gain. That calmed it down to
the point where it works unless sunlight hits
it. Then all bets are off.

Thanks! What was resistor value and how can I
find it? Did you locate schematic / parts
layout?? If so, could you point me there.

I have also seen a mod where the user
changed the value of a capacitor to modify
the filters response.

Gotta love the web....
