No matter what kind of camera I add to AHP
it crashes with this error or one like it.
AppName: activehm.exe AppVer: 3.0.0.186
ModName: x10net.dll
ModVer: 2.0.0.40 Offset: 0009a8e7
I reinstalled the x10 drivers and still get
this kind of error.
-
Thanks for the details of the error message.
We'll work on this.
-
This may, or may not be related but ....
A few days ago I let the 'Windows update
service' install a new driver for the 'Intel
PC Camera Pro'. That blew away my VA11A
driver and made the video quit working.
After getting the VA11A working again, my
one camera was changed to an 'appliance
module' or some such thing so I just changed
the module type back to 'camera'. After that
every time I hit 'On Air' AHP would crash.
I finally cleared the problem by deleting
the camera and associated macros (saving and
downloading) and then adding the camera
module back.
I did not spend a lot of time investigating
this but it would appear that AHP will
change the camera module into something else
if the video interface is not working.
Changing it back to 'camera' after that
makes AHP crash when you try to see live
video.
Good luck with your problem.

Yes, I get the same exact error since I updated to 3.186;
however, I did not install the windows update to the Intel
Camera Pro.
Keep us posted on the fix!
-
Ken: Interesting problem. I'm going to try
that here too. What type of camera did you
define in AHP?
-
Thanks -- the camera that I'm using is
defined as a Ninja Robotic Mount. The crash
seems to occur after AHP has been running
for several hours. It may corrsepond with
the dropping of the camera signal... I have
to power down and restart the cameras every
time the crash occurs, but since there's
such a wide time variance, I'm not sure
which problem occurs first.
-
I'm not sure this is helping Lew or Ron's
problem but ...
I selected 'xcam white wired color camera'.
I am actually using a 'brand-x' wireless
800Mhz color camera with IR illuminators. It
claims 380 lines of NTSC resolution.
-
FYI (in case you did not figure it out yet)
I started AHP while the VA11A driver was
inop. That was when the camera module
changed.
-
Lew: Do you have the an ATI video card or
Remote Wonder remote control installed?
-
ATI x800 Pro with all the Catalyst drivers
that came with this update.
wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-121-050322a-022141c.exe
-
Lew: I'm going to try to duplicate the
problem here. Can you send an e-mail to
ahpsupport@x10.com so I can get your e-mail
address in case I need to get more information?
-
Any status on a fix for my problem? It would
be really nice to use the software I bought.
-
I have the same problem. I've never even
got to use this plugin. WHen i try to add a
camera I get an error then it crashes. the
details are below. When i click on stills
the program just exits. No warning or
error. Will this be fixed soon?
AppName: activehm.exe AppVer: 3.0.0.186
ModName: x10net.dll
ModVer: 2.0.0.40 Offset: 0009a8e7
-
Any luck yet x10 support?
-
Lew & ronnie: I know what the problem is and
can send you some instructions to solve it.
If you send me an e-mail (ahpsupport@x10.com)
I'll reply and tell you what you can do to
fix it.
-
OK, sent you my e-mail through the support
forums and thanks in advance for the help.
-
Still waiting for the e-mail.
-
I just sent the instructions, Lew.
-
Thanks, it worked and now I'm a happy
camper. It's doing everything I wanted it to
do. I can monitor my 9 Camera System and so
far it's working great.
-
I too am getting the exact error that Lew and
Ronnie are getting. Can I please have a copy
of the intructions so I can get my Cams working?
Thanks,
David
-
DavidM: I just replied to the e-mail you sent me.
-
Please send me the fix too. I have to
reinstall the iWitness to get AHP to start
without crashing.
-
I think I found a work-around.
Right click on "Activehome Pro" shortcut
and choose "Properties"
Click on "Compability" tab.
Check "Disable visual themes"
Click on "Apply"
Works for me!
-
Will the X10 Pro that is emailing the fix
to ths problem PLEASE send it to me but at
the least POST it here so we can all get it
as needed instead of having to go through
all this hassle. Thanks!
-
I tried to disable the "Visual Themes" as
suggested above, sorry, it's still a No-Go!
No matter what I've tried so far, it won't
add a camera period.
P.S. I forgot to mention, that I am working
with an ATI video card and also uninstalled
the "Remote Control" for it and removed it
from the system completely.
-
Disable "Visual Themes" fixed my crashing
when starting up the program. Before that,
I could not get into the program.
-
Well I still haven't heard from anyone
from X10 yet, and still cannot add a camera
to the Active Home Pro software with the I-
Witness plug-in. So it's like paying for
something that you can't use, which aint
good. I have tried the suggestion of
Disabline Visual Themes, and as stated, it
doesn't help at all. I can run Active Home
Pro no problem, ass any module I want, EXCEPT
for a camera! As soon as I do and click on
the"OK" button, it crashes instantly.
HELP ! I paid over $500 for a camera and
software and can't use it. This is getting
to be a bit irratating, especially when I
don't get a reply from X10 from the 2-3
emails, and more posts here on the Forum.
Come on guys, I'm being nice and patient!
-
This is what x10 told me to do and it worked
for me. Hope it works for you.
Look in Program Files\Common Files\X10
\Common\ for a file named X10net.dll.
Copy that file to \Program Files\ATI
MultiMedia\RemCtrl\. That will replace
the file that's causing the error, and allow
AHP to work. You may need to
restart for this to take effect.
-
Hey Lew, I appreciate the hell out of your
reply and I can almost bet it'll work before
I even try, considering it's that dang DLL
file I see as part of the error! Excuse my
language if I offended anyone, but it's just
damn good to get a responce that makes
sense, even if it wasn't from the folks at
X10.
-
Hey Lew, just wanted to let ya know that
the wife is going to be tickled pink and in
awe now that I have it all setup and
WORKING ! Thanks man, very much. I'll be
sure to pass the word on about the ATI
problems and solutions to other's as well.
Maybe even direct them here to the Forums,
you never know! :)
-
Glad you got it working, but the solution is
x10 not mine. I just posted it so others
could see it. Don't know why x10 wouldn't do
this for everyone. Oh-well, have fun.
