Title: VA11A
Post by: john on July 08, 2005, 11:09:55 PM
I've tried everything to get WidowsXP to
recognize the VA11A to no avail.  I'm not a
neophyte when it comes to computers but can
anyone help me here.  Could the VA11A be
defective?

I'm in same way: nothing make VA11A works.
I don't think VA11A is defective but drives
are no developed for XP.
If there is some who make it works please
let us know before return it back.

Can't use my printer with video driver
installed. It steps in my printer driver.
If I goto print, it just sits there. I have
to close with Task Manager. I have a USB
Epson CX3200 all in one printer.

I had the same problem with Windows 2000 Pro.
It recognized it as a generic USB device but
not VA11A.  Sent it back.

I am having the same problem. USB
recognizes the device as an Unknown device.
Trying to install the right drives doesn't
work, as WinXP don't see them.
Any suggestions from X10 in this issue
before I send it back for a refund?

I used live chat and they told me what to do
they have smart staff. You will have to redo
everything. Remove all x10 programs that
used VA11A. Reinstall them the teem will
walk you through them and send you what you
need. They will e-mail it to you. I'm
running again. www.x10/support/support.com

support told me that the VA11A with 05E19
codes on round white sticker are defective.

John:
Mine has that code on it too. I somehow
managed to load the driver last night, and
the whole thing worked, however, the minute
I unplug the USB connection and plug it
back it, the same **** happens (unknown
device, can't find driver etc.)
Frustrating. I am debating if I should just
send it back for a refund or wait six
months hoping for a software update..

Robert,

I'm sending mine back.  I was told that in
a week a new VA11A would be sent to me but
I doubt it.

Uninstall everything and reinstall. I mean
Vavgaurd, Muliview, Xray Vision, Xray Vision
Remote, I also removed cam program that
cause the problem in the first place.

We're looking at this problem, and will have
some more information soon.

If you are having problems with the VA11A,
please look in Device Manager and see how the
VA11A is listed when you plug it in. If it
shows up as "Unknown Device" or as "USB
Device" with a yellow exclamation mark in
front of it, un-plug it, and plug it in
again. If it shows up the same way, please
call or e-mail tech support for an exchange.

If you plug in the VA11A and it shows up as
Intel PC Camera Pro, you can update the
driver to the X10 driver in Program
Files\Common Files\X10\DriverInstall\VA11A
Video Capture

Yeah, untill you restart your computer and
the VA11A disappears again.

Post by: robert on July 21, 2005, 07:04:52 PM
When I get it work, the computer recognize
it as the Intel Camera Pro. Then I update
the driver and it is recognized as the
VA11A. However the minute I turn the
computer off, the device is not recognized
and the agony of recognition start all over
again.
I am pissed off at X10 for releasing a USB
device without proper drivers. It should
have been tested and certified by Microsoft
to save us from all this frustration!!

John & Robert: That's a slightly different
problem than I was expecting.

What's the code on the white sticker on your
VA11A? What brand/model of computer do you
see the problem on?

In Device Manager, does the VA11A show up as
the Intel PC Camera Pro under Imaging
Devices, USB Controllers, or both?

Sorry, missed the date code information. I
think the best option is to contact technical
support for an exchange, if you haven't already.

John, ALL,
I am thinking about moving into the video
area with my CM15A/AHP/Macro setup.  Have
they fixed this VA11A driver thing yet ?  Are
they shipping good units now ?  I want to
monitor 2 external areas of my home on live
TV or PC Video.  I want to be able to
recognize the people on the screen and not
have to guess.  Is this iWitness thing a
viable solution.. What model cams ?  how good
are they... your opinions would really be
appreciated.
regards,
SteveRF

I've been waiting over two weeks now for
the updtated VA11A - nothing yet.  All
cameras are alike in viedeo quality.  If
you know who the person in the video you
will be able to recognize them.  However,
if you don't, the video would be useless in
a police investigation.

Hello All. I sent my va11a back after finally
getting an RMA from the online tech. I had
fought with the va11a for hours upon hours
each day. I had the 05e19 v11a originally.
X10 sent me one with a different number on it
and it works great now.  It took about week
total for turnaround.

I am running XP and had to update the Intel
PC Pro to recognize the VA11A. During the
installation a message comes up indicating
possible damage and to contact the hardware
dealer, but to continue any how. The system
works fine but the moment I shut down I
have to again Reinstall the drivers. Has
anyone found a solution to this problem. I
have 4 different cameras installed in the
system and got good reception and
resolution. What are the alternatives to
solve this problem of having to reinstall
the VA11A Drivers??.

I had a smililar problem with the
X10Drivers.exe and NEVER got an install for
the VA11A. It always set itself up for the
Intel and following the book on page 14 was
NO HELP !  I finally switched to the
XStream.exe and the VA11A driver loaded ok.
All is well now, am testing some cams and
Ninja with iWitness.'

-----------------------------------------
Video quality on the PC Stinks using either
the 31A or 36A receiver !
-----------------------------------------

The 31A receiver gives a great pic on the TV
with coax but real crappy when hooked up to
the PC and going through the VA11A and
iWitness.  I am not too happy with that senario.
---------------------
Are there any options to the VA11A ?
My current version is:05H34
I just love all those squiggly lines.

hey john.....7/8/05....8:09 pm.....had the
same problem.....uniinstall
everything....then installed the drivers
first then xray vision, then
ahp.....updated the drivers in "imaging
devices" and it came back VA11A ....the usb
portion will still say intel pro cam or
whatever it is.....then load xstream....and
reconnect....it helps to have the camera
and sender plugged in...it worked......was
trying for two days
