Title: Daylight savings AGAIN
Post by: andy d on November 03, 2005, 08:22:30 AM
Last time we did a daylight saving transition
those that were in zones that didn't shift
reported that the CM15a changed time even
thought the programming PC's were set to
ignor DST.  X10 assured us that the problem
had been fixed.

It has not been.  Early this week I noticed
that my timed events were off by one hour.  I
live in Phoenix, AZ and my PC is set to ignor
DST.  The eeprom file seems to set all
timers  the same for all 365 days.  I see
nothing in the eeprom file that would cause a
DST shift.

Anyone else in non DST zones see this problem?

Andy:  Do you have your PC's time zone set to
Arizona, or Mountain with the DST checkbox
unchecked?  I seem to remember there was a
bug where it didn't know the Arizona time
zone shouldn't use DST.  If you used the
Mountain time zone and unchecked the DST
button, it would detect that you didn't use
DST.  I agree that this should have been
fixed though.

It (XP home) is set to GMT-7 Mountain Time
and DST is not checked.  The PC maintained
the correct time.  CM15a restored the correct
time when PC was connected and hardware
config opened.  CM15a was not reloaded.

AndyD: This is a problem we need to fix.
Basically, AHP set the interface to adjust
its time for Daylight Savings when it
shouldn't have. We meant to fix this after
the change in the spring, but will get it
fixed for the next time change. Sorry for
throwing off your lights.
