Title: blank pic when starts to record
Post by: Going Bonkers on December 20, 2004, 09:00:50 PM
Finally I have everything working right,
well almost to many hours involved to stop
now. My problem is when my sensors detect
motion the screen will go blank on my
monitor and that is what it records. This
happens on all three of my cameras. 2-xcam2
and one lowlight all wireless. Also when I
flip thru from one cam to another with the 8
unit scan cam remote it will go blank on
monitor, sometimes within a few seconds
sometimes in a minute or two. Is there some
kind of sleep mode and if so why will the
camera not kick back on. Would be thankfull
for any answers or even suggestions. Also
can be reached at liener@aol.com

Have you accounted for the motion sensor's
"off" command which occurs one minute (by
default) after it is triggered on?  That's
about all I can offer without knowing more
about your application.  I have a MultiView 4
cam system with it's own inherent problems.

I suggest that you get the Xcam2 Instant-ON
cameras.  It takes sometime to warm-up a
camera in order to see pictures.  By switch
from one to the next with the older xcam,
you'll see some period of blank.

If your cameras are not the instant on ones,
when the power is switched on the whole
electronics has to start powering on.
Including the sensor used to get the light
to video. The instant on models have all but
the RF transmitter on all the time and just
switch on the RF when activated. Easy way
too tell. Look at the power conncetor from
the wall brick. If it is a connector like a
1/8" stereo plug it is instant on as the
third connection has power for the camera
and the other goes on and off for the RF
section. Blank video untill the sensor
charges up is a normal thing.
